Kubernetes Infrastructure Migration
We containerise the workloads on your servers and migrate them wave by wave to a Kubernetes platform built with security and observability standards. On-prem, cloud or hybrid: the platform is yours, the discipline is ours.
Why now
If these symptoms sound familiar
- Servers are set up by hand; no two environments are exactly alike.
- Capacity has to be added manually during traffic spikes; night-time calls are increasing.
- A package that works in test behaves differently in production.
- High availability relies on expensive and complex solutions.
- The cloud bill keeps growing, but nobody can see which workload spends what.
Highlights
- Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, Google GKE, OpenShift and on-prem
- GitOps-based delivery with Argo CD
- Autoscaling and high availability
- Monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry
Scope
Scope and deliverables
Every item is adapted to the scope and priorities agreed together after the assessment.
- 01
Readiness assessment
Workload inventory, dependencies, state (stateful / stateless) and compliance requirements; a migration-wave plan.
- 02
Platform design
Cluster topology, environment strategy (dev / test / prod), networking (CNI, ingress, service mesh), storage (CSI), identity and access management.
- 03
Containerisation
Dockerfile standards, image security (scanning and signing), packaging with Helm charts or Kustomize.
- 04
GitOps and CI/CD
Declarative delivery with Argo CD or Flux; promotion across environments; secret management with Vault and External Secrets.
- 05
Security and compliance
RBAC, Pod Security standards, NetworkPolicy, policy enforcement with Kyverno / OPA and audit logging.
- 06
Observability and SRE
Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and OpenTelemetry; SLO definitions, alerting rules and on-call runbooks.
- 07
Migration and cutover
Wave-by-wave migration, parallel running, controlled traffic shifting and a rollback plan for every wave.
- 08
Cost optimisation
Right-sizing, HPA / VPA / Cluster Autoscaler, mixed node pools and FinOps reporting.
Outcomes
What changes after the transformation
Autoscaling
Capacity grows on its own when load rises and cost falls when it drops.
Self-healing workloads
Unhealthy containers restart automatically; workloads move when a node is lost.
Consistent environments
Dev, test and production derive from the same definition; "it worked on my machine" is over.
Visible cost
Resource usage is reported per namespace and team; optimisation becomes continuous.
Technology
Platforms and tools
Technology choices follow your existing ecosystem and your team's skills; the list above shows our experience, not our preferences.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can stateful applications such as databases be migrated too?
Yes, but we assess each one separately. Some databases are better run on Kubernetes with operators, others on managed cloud services or on their existing servers.
Is Kubernetes possible in our own data centre?
It is. We build on-prem and hybrid platforms with OpenShift, Rancher or kubeadm-based installations, without creating dependency on a cloud provider.
Will our existing CI/CD pipeline be preserved?
Largely, yes. Your existing tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions keep building images; the deployment layer is standardised with GitOps.
Will there be downtime during migration?
Our target is zero downtime. Workloads move in waves, old and new environments run in parallel for a while and traffic is shifted in a controlled way; every wave has a rollback plan.
